The overarching purpose of The Leon H. Sullivan Foundation is to ensure that the great legacy of our Founder, the Reverend Leon H. Sullivan, will not only endure but will continue to make a positive impact on our society and contribute positively to the lives of millions of people worldwide. |
 |
Located in Washington, DC, the mission of the Leon H. Sullivan Foundation is to support and promote the programs and initiatives created by the Reverend Leon H. Sullivan. The Sullivan Foundation will strengthen existing funding sources and create partnerships with additional donors. Towards this end, the Sullivan Foundation has employed an independent fund raising company that will assist in generating funds from a diverse portfolio. The Sullivan Foundation also provides government advocacy on behalf of the Sullivan Entities.
A major goal of the Sullivan Foundation is to build an endowment that will be held in trust for the Sullivan Entities. The Sullivan Endowment will be a permanent pecuniary provision for the maintenance of the Sullivan organizations.
In addition to building an endowment for the Sullivan Entities, the Sullivan Foundation also has responsibility for the Leon H. Sullivan Summit (formerly The African-American Summit). The next Summit, The Sixth Leon H. Sullivan Summit, is scheduled for July 14 - 18, 2003 in Abuja, Nigeria. Ambassador Andrew J. Young is the Chairman of the Leon H. Sullivan Foundation; he also serves as the Summit Chairman. |
